KNOW INDIA PROGRAMME (KIP) – 89th EDITION
(SCHOLARS AND INNOVATORS – AGE GROUP 18 to 23 YEARS)
CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
The Consulate General of India, Istanbul is pleased to invite applications from eligible members of the Indian diaspora residing within its jurisdiction for the 89th edition of the Know India Programme (KIP), an initiative of the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India, designed to strengthen the connect of diaspora youth with their ancestral roots and acquaint them with contemporary India's progress across diverse fields.

Who Can Apply
- Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs)
- Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs)
- Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
Applicants must be aged between 18 and 23 years as on the first day of the month in which the programme commences, and must not have previously participated in KIP or in any other programme organised and funded by the Government of India. Preference will be given to applicants who have not visited India before. Applicants must be proficient in spoken English.
Programme Highlights
- Exposure to India's innovation and start-up ecosystem, including visits to institutions such as IITs, IIMs, ISRO and premier research organisations
- Interactive sessions on public policy, governance and flagship national initiatives such as Digital India, Skill India and Startup India
- Visits to iconic heritage sites, including the Red Fort, Qutub Minar, Taj Mahal and other places of historical and cultural importance
- Immersion in India's cultural heritage through Yoga, Ayurveda, classical music, dance and regional traditions
- Visits to at least two States/Union Territories of India
Support Provided
- 90% of the return airfare borne by the Government of India (remaining 10% borne by the participant)
- Boarding, lodging and internal transportation within India
- Gratis visa for selected participants
How to Apply
Interested and eligible candidates residing within the jurisdiction of the Consulate General of India, Istanbul may submit their application, along with the requisite documents (proof of Indian origin/OCI-PIO card details, passport copy, educational certificates and passport-size photograph), to the Consulate at the earliest, and in any case not later than 27 August 2026.
