About Us

The Consulate General of India in Istanbul was established in April 1994. It provides a wide range of consular, commercial, cultural, and educational services.

The Consular Wing offers services including the issuance of passports, various consular facilitation services, and the granting of visas to tourists, businesspersons, students, and other categories of visitors travelling to India. It also extends assistance, as required, to Indian nationals visiting Türkiye. Contact details of the concerned officials are available on this website.

The Commercial Wing works towards strengthening bilateral trade and economic relations between India and Türkiye by promoting business engagement and facilitating cooperation between stakeholders in both countries.

The Cultural and Education Wing focuses on promoting Indian culture and heritage through the organization of cultural events and initiatives. It also supports individuals and professionals interested in learning and promoting Indian music, dance, and other art forms, as well as those aspiring to pursue studies in India. Information on upcoming events and activities is regularly published on the Consulate’s website.

The Consulate General of India in Istanbul currently has jurisdiction over the provinces of Aydın, Balıkesir, Bursa, Çanakkale, Denizli, Edirne, İstanbul, Kırklareli, Kocaeli, Manisa, Muğla, Sakarya, Tekirdağ, and Yalova. Residents of other provinces in Türkiye may seek information and services from the Embassy of India in Ankara.
